About The Fountain Square Arts Council

Fountain Square…historic, cultural, community involved.  These are just a few unique attributes that describe this eclectic Cultural District.  A historical foundation with momentum that has enabled Fountain Square to serve as an arts and cultural destination for residents of Central Indiana and beyond.  Realizing this movement, a newly formed Fountain Square Arts Council has emerged.  While still in development, FSAC has already planned events not only to enhance the presence of arts in Fountain Square, but to promote youth and family involvement in the arts.

FSAC has outlined several goals, which in conjunction with surrounding organizations, will continue to elevate Fountain Square as a premiere destination in our city.   These goals range from supporting local artists and events to serving as a connection between the residents and the arts.  FSAC is currently seeking 501C3 status and regularly meets on a monthly basis.

Our mission:

  • Act as a catalyst for arts and communication for the arts in South East Indianapolis.
  • Further establish Fountain Square as an arts destination
  • Provide support for local artists
  • Make art inclusive of the entire neighborhood
  • Provide a connection between residents and artists
  • Provide a forum for open discussion of public art projects and guidelines
  • Create a mechanism to network with other local art groups
  • Develop a web site for Fountain Square Artists
  • Promote youth and family involvement in the arts
